Carlos Santana to Headline 3rd Annual Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival

On Friday August 31st and Saturday September 1st 2012, the third edition of Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival will again take place at the World Trade Center Curaçao in Piscadera Bay.

Curaçao is an a piece of untouched paradise with exclusive beaches, a hospitable, vibrant culture and heritage – partly European and partly African immersed in the atmosphere of jazz, soul, and Latin with a Caribbean touch.Curacao is fun, beautiful and mellow…the perfect vacation spot for water sports, hiking, or riding a horse on the road curving upward to amazing vistas of Mount Christoffel.

After two successful editions, everyone is really looking forward to organize another great festival edition….

Carlos Santana, the guitar legend who needs no introduction, will headline the third edition of Curacao North Sea Jazz with his band to be festival headliner on Friday. The Mexican superstar gained his fame in the 60’s and 70’s when his band Santana pioneered with a fusion of rock, salsa and jazz.

Other “A List headliners will be announced. Four (4) & five (5) packages will be available on February 15th at the Hilton from Tuesday, August 28th-

In the week before the Festival, free and pay concerts are held on various locations on the island, including the popular party spot, Mambo Beach, the Brionplein and other local venues.

Tickets will be available of February 15th as well hotel and additional services provided such as festival tickets on arrival at the airport or hotel and transfer to the hotel.

Last year’s headliners for the second annual Curaçao North Sea Jazz Festival included world-famous musicians Sting and Stevie Wonder, and other year of A-list performers, including Dionne Warwick, Earth, Wind & Fire and more, for a first-class jazz and blues concert series, incorporating an eclectic mix of salsa, Latin, pop!

“Other performers at last years Festival include Dionne Warwick, Earth, Wind & Fire, Ruben Blades, Roberto Fonseca, Juan Luis Guerra, Terence Blanchard, Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, Poncho Sanchez, Danilo Perez Trio, Levi Silvanie, Chucho Valdes Afro Cuban & Messengers and Ronchi Matthew, providing an impressive line-up of jazz, soul, rock and Latin music.

Two years ago, locals and visitors experienced memorable performances from artists John Legend, Lionel Richie, Natalie Cole, Simply Red, George Benson, Sergio Mendes who wowed the audience.
