Denzel Washington and Alfre Woodard Nominated For 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

The nominations for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are in, and Denzel Washington and Alfre Woodard are among the list of nominees.

Washington is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for his work as Whip Whitaker in Flight. Woodard is being recognized for her role as Ouiser in the Lifetime remake of Steel Magnolias. She’s nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries.

Each year, the SAG Awards honors the best and brightest in the world of on-screen acting. The nominees are chosen by separate film and television nominating committees, which together comprises 2,100 members. The winners will be announced on Sunday, January 27 at the Los Angeles Shrine Exposition Center. The ceremony will be broadcasted live on TNT.

Washington has also received two other nominations this awards season. He’s nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture and Outstanding Motion Picture for Flight at the 44th annual NAACP Image Awards.

Other celebs nominated by the NAACP include Jamie Foxx for Outstanding Actor in Django Unchained, Kerry Washington for Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for Scandal, Halle Berry for Outstanding Actress in Cloud Atlas, Tyler Perry for Outstanding Actor in Alex Cross and Amber Riley for Outstanding Actres in a Comedy Series for Glee.
