Jeff Robinson returns to Jazz at Sea Dockside for an oncore performance at the Fantasea Yacht Cub in Marina del Rey on Friday June 5, 2009.

Vocalist Jeff Robinson returns to the scene with an hypnotic blend of original Jazz and Soul recordings, evoking memories of Marvin Gaye, Al Green and Sam Cooke – all wrapped in a haunting jazz package. He exploded on the Jazz scene in London, playing the famous Jazz Cafe, and was a fixture on London’s Jazz FM [Radio]. In fact, Jeff can be found on several Jazz FM compilations. London-based Echoesnews called Jeff’s debut LP “Any Shade of Blue“, “One of the Top 5 CD’s of the year.”

Jeff’s latest CD, “Eyewitness“, is a deep reaching, moody, but often uplifting testament to the human condition. “Eyewitness” is a soul searching expedition – one which many listeners will identify with. Sometimes bright and hopeful, but also melancholy and subdued, Jeff speaks to his audience, weaving tales of everyday life, love, despair and hope.

Originally from New York, Jeff now resides in Los Angeles. He is a household name in many Jazz circles, having performed at the Playboy Jazz Festival, and in many of the best Jazz venues on the west coast. Don’t miss this strong 2nd CD.

“This is an unexpected pleasure. Jeff Robinson is certainly someone’s best kept secret. This record [Eyewitness] has depth, emotion, great musicianship and a truly great artist. When someone finally catches on, I think we’ll be hearing about him for a long time to come.”Sarah Diamond – bought cd on CDBaby.com

Jeff Robinson left the sunshine of California to make a couple of live appearances at London’s Mezzos and Jazz Cafe venues, where I had the pleasure of witnessing a particularly strong debut. Robinson’s voice combines the range and vocal control of Jazz with the depth and emotion of Soul in equal measure. His performance oozed class and quality throughout.Malcolm Prangell – Blues and Soul Magazine, London

“I first saw Jeff at a small club in LA where I heard very big sounds. He is without question one of the top vocalists on the scene today. From straight ahead jazz, blues, all the way to mainstream pop. With singers, you can tell by the truth in the tone that is being projected. In Jeff’s case, he believes what he sings. No attitude, just serious talent !!!!! If you go through life one more day without hearing this, you should see a doctor. By the way, one of my best friends snagged my CD so I had to get another one. That’s how good this stuff is !!!!! So remember what I have told you today and get your copy now.”Music Fan review on amazon.com

“Unsurprisingly, the best soul-jazz album this year has not been released by a major label. Jeff Robinson’s “Any Shade of Blue” is sheer class from start to finish.” – Chris Wells – Echoes Magazine, London
