Saxophonist Aaron Fletcher is appearing at the Aqualounge in Beverly Hills on Tuesday, April 14th. He will be performing hits from his recently released CD, Turn Up the Heat.

Aaron began his musical journey at the age of 6, starting on the drums and a year later, switching to the saxophone.  His first musical experiences were in the church where he developed his musical talent for most of his youth.  Playing in church introduced Aaron to music on a very passionate level, which later became the key for developing his signature sound.  Aaron’s tutelage came from the older, established musicians who not only mentored and showed him how to play the instrument, but more importantly showed him how to perform.  This training would lead to his first paid performance by the age of 10.
By the age of 13, Aaron was tested by Dr. Kenneth Klaus and Professor Charlotte Pipes of Nicholls State University for the State of Louisiana’s Talented and Gifted program.  Aaron’s talent was further evaluated by the famous jazz pianist Ellis Marsalis, who recommended that Aaron attend the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (N.O.C.C.A) which has been known for producing such talented artists including: Branford and Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., and Terence Blanchard.
After graduating from N.O.C.C.A., Aaron was offered an opportunity to play in Terence Blanchard’s band.  While touring with Terence, Aaron got the chance to work with many renowned artists such as: Wynton Marsalis, Roy Hargrove, filmmaker – Spike Lee, Stevie Wonder, Wyclef Jean from the Fugees, Teena Marie, Anita Baker, and many more.
In 2002, Aaron was a finalist in the Thelonius Monk International Saxophone Competetion.  This event showcased the best saxophone players in the world.  At the conclusion of the competition, Aaron knew it was time to make his move.  Later that year Aaron moved to Los Angeles where he met songwriter Michael Alan Henderson.  The two collaborated on an instrumental project to introduce a new musical sound that would breathe new life into the music industry.  Aaron’s Debut  Album, “Turn Up The Heat”, released in 2007, embodies the sound of a younger generation of musicians like Aaron who are taking the music to another level.

Aaron’s next CD is scheduled for release in the Summer 2009.
